Design Process & Precision Engineering

Precision is paramount in the pre-fabrication process. Material is cut to exact lengths with an integrated computer-controlled measuring system. PBS is the only Canadian panel manufacturer to use a single platform Design & Engineering Software.  Our software application includes free site-friendly iPad/iPhone view application so you know the details of your job all the time.

Fabrication Process (Walls & Floors)

PBS uses a proprietary Wall & Floor Lifting System that is safer, with no unnecessary holes in sheathing, and therefore creating a tighter building envelope. All floor panels have a unique “puck” system that eliminates movement post-installation which might otherwise cause squeaks, holes or unevenness under carpet and hardwood.  Straighter framing with PBS also means virtually no off-square walls that might lead to complaints from other trades or the consumer.

Dependable Delivery

With our reliable fleet of trucks and trailers, PBS is ready to deliver to job sites across Ontario. Once all your pre-fabricated panels and components have been produced, PBS’s seasoned logistics and shipping department takes over, providing you with a fixed delivery date that you can depend on.  Then  PBS guarantees your shipment will arrive on time, with trucks loaded with components in reverse order for efficient and rapid off-load and assembly.

Site Installation

PBS offers a wide range of panelized building solutions with the convenience of One-Stop Shopping, and all at one all-inclusive price with NO EXTRAS! We supply all Engineering necessary for permits. We coordinate all window, door, and stair openings directly from your contractor’s shop drawings. We supply wall and floor panels, trusses and all loose lumber (footings, bracing, roof load and rough-in). We also provide complete installation services, with a large highly skilled team of professionals and all the equipment required to put the panels securely into place, including a wide range of cranes.

Whether you’re building lowrise homes or midrise buildings with up to 5 or 6 storeys, the construction process is sped up dramatically by using PBS Wall & Floor Panels, with erection time at least 37% less than stick-built homes. Of course, a faster Build Cycle means greater economies and efficiencies all down the line, including reducing your labour force and the time required for clean-up.

Greener by Design & Less Waste

PBS’s ECO Program ensures every step of the building process is environmentally friendly, eliminating waste wherever possible. Lumber off-cuts are diverted from landfill and recycled.
Drops and shorts are used for packaging and/or storage. Using PBS wall and floor panels can also be used to secure cost-effective points towards a project’s LEED certification.

With dramatically less wastage on your work site, you’ll save approximately 50% of your waste bin costs. Plus you’ll experience less theft of materials since people are far less likely to steal a completed panel than a new lift of loose material.  Less wastage and less shrinkage means more profit on each home.
